Recently, the security firm Zscaler ThreatLabz found apps in the Google Play Store that contained multiple instances of the malware families Joker, Facestealer, and Coper. The Google Android Security team apparently responded to a notification from the ThreatLabz team by removing these harmful apps from the Google Play Store. These hazardous apps are still present on customers’ phones even after Google removes them from the Play Store. These users must remove them from their devices immediately.

What the malware known as Joker, Facestealer, and Coper are: One of the most persistent pieces of malware, known as Joker, subscribes individuals to online subscription services without their knowledge. By covering up legitimate login fields in well-known Android apps with phony ones, the spyware Facestealer steals Facebook accounts from users.
