There’s also a Brand Collabs Manager in Meta, which essentially does the same thing, but this new method will be Instagram-specific, allowing more IG stars to connect with possibilities.

Meta is also expanding its Reels Play Bonus program to more Facebook creators, allowing them to cross-post their Instagram Reels to Facebook and monetize them within both platforms.
Reels Play Bonus program
In September of last year, Meta introduced its Reels Play Bonus program as part of a more extensive effort to entice top creators to continue uploading their Reels in the app. Given that Reels is now its most popular content type, it’s only natural for them to exploit this where possible in order to prevent its best stars from defecting to TikTok and YouTube.
On that front, Meta will at least give individuals the ability to keep track of their bonuses in one location. The bonus insight page on Facebook that Meta is introducing will show how many plays each of its eligible Reels received during a given earning period.
The company’s decision to modify the Meta for creators bonus program follows another recent change made by it in which it altered its algorithms to favor original content over reposts or other aggregated material from different sources.
Instagram is making changes to its ranking algorithm in order to emphasize original content more on its platform, according to the company’s head, Adam Mosseri. In response to the news, a spokesperson for Instagram said that the social media giant is implementing adjustments to its ranking algorithm in order to prioritize the distribution of actual stuff rather than re-posted material in places like the Reels tab and feed.

It’s no surprise that Reels are the most popular content type across Meta’s platforms, so it wants to provide more opportunities for creators to post Reels to the app in order to encourage participation and keep them from moving over to TikTok. As a result, it is also expanding its Facebook Reels Play incentive program to all American creators, as well as experimenting with new monetization methods on both Instagram and Facebook by cross-posting their work.

Zuckerberg stated that, as a result of the news from last week, Meta is opening up Facebook Stars, the virtual goods that let fans to show their support for favorite creators, to all eligible individuals. Starting this week, creators with at least 1,000 followers in the previous 60 days will be able to join. Creators must be located in a country where Stars are accessible and must also adhere to Meta’s Partner Monetization Standards and Content Monetization Standards. Meta is also bringing back Stars Fest, a month-long celebration beginning on June 15 and running until July 15 to celebrate Star creators.
“We’re heading toward a future where more people can do creative work they enjoy, and I want platforms like ours to play a role in making that happen,” Zuckerberg said in a Facebook post.
As part of the release, Zuckerberg announced that Meta is extending its NFT test on Instagram so that more creators in other parts of the world may include their NFTs on the platform. The blockchains supported for presenting NFTs on Instagram are Ethereum and Polygon, with Flow and Solana support coming soon. Zuckerberg said that the company will begin testing this system on Facebook very soon, beginning with a small group of American creators. On Instagram Stories, Meta will conduct a test using SparkAR next month.
Users were previously required to manage a Gaming Video Creator Page, have more than 100 followers, and stream game material for at least 2 days in one 14-day period in order to be eligible for stars. However, Meta has recently begun extending Stars to Reels, which will eventually enable more creators to profit through the Facebook creator bonus program. Stars are available in most countries, with certain limitations.
