On the CAPCOM website, there’s a countdown timer that has been active since yesterday and it is actively counting down to a week from now.
CAPCOM countdown: Street Fighter VI or Resident Evil 4 remake
The timer began early on Monday morning, and it will close next Monday, Feb. 21, 2022. Fans have been guessing what the time limit is for since it first appeared. Street Fighter fans are hoping that the timer is counting down to the official reveal of Street Fighter VI, which was leaked and teased in a big CAPCOM data breach last year.
Considering that Street Fighter hasn’t had a new installment since 2016, this would be great news for the fighting game community. The countdown will conclude three days after the conclusion of Capcom’s Street Fighter Pro Tour, so it might be time for another announcement, hopefully for the next edition of the game.
Alternatively, this could be the long-awaited reveal of Resident Evil 4‘s return. While Resident Evil Village debuted last year, it’s unlikely that this is anything related to a new game; after all, fans have been waiting a long time for the Resident Evil 4 remake.
