The comparison between Xiaomi 12 and Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is here for you. The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G, which was originally announced in 2021 and delayed by the semiconductor crisis, is now available. It was scheduled to debut in 2021, but we had to wait until 2022 before it became accessible across the world. That is why, despite the fact that many people expected it to compete with Xiaomi’s Mi 11, it has emerged as one of Xiaomi’s most important rivals.

Should consumers choose the newest flagship killer from Xiaomi or should Samsung have delivered a higher quality product? This is a comparison between the specs of the Xiaomi 12 and Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G, so you may make an informed decision.

Design

Though the Xiaomi 12 and Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G have different designs, they are both exquisite phones. Because of its tiny measurements of 152.7 x 69.9 x 8.2 mm, it is quite attractive. Its design is also rather basic, with a high screen-to-body ratio and a compact camera module that matches the rest of the rear side’s color. The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G is yet another beautiful device with a Contour Cut Design: it has the same color as the rear cover as the Xiaomi 12, but it is also waterproof and comes with an IP68 certification. The plastic rear casing (unlike the Xiaomi 12), but the aluminum frame and front glass are both Gorilla Glass Victus protected.

Display

The Xiaomi 12 has a better display than the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G on paper, despite the fact that it is a significantly smaller screen. The Xiaomi 12 features an OLED panel with up to one billion colors and a Full HD+ resolution of 6.28 inches, as well as 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision support. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G has a larger display with a 6.4-inch diagonal and 1080 x 2400 pixel resolution, as well as 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and Full HD+ dimensions. It has four cameras on the back, including a telephoto lens (which I’ll talk about later), but it lacks Dolby Vision and offers only 16 million colors, as do most other phones. Both handsets make use of an in-display fingerprint scanner for authentication.

Specs & Software

The Xiaomi 12 is a lot more powerful than the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G because it has the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 mobile platform. This octa-core processor, with a 4 nm manufacturing process and a maximum clock speed of 3 GHz, is Qualcomm’s best to date and is coupled with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. However, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G does not disappoint thanks to its top-of-the-line Snapdragon 888 chipset, which supports up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of native storage. Both phones run Android 12; however, their user interfaces are different.

Camera

The Xiaomi 12’s main camera is superior to that of the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G in terms of resolution: it’s a 50 MP sensor with OIS (compared to a former 12 MP camera with OIS). However, the Xiaomi 12 lacks a telephoto lens, while the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G has one with 3x optical zoom. Furthermore, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G includes a greater 12 MP ultrawide sensor than the Xiaomi 12.

Battery

The Xiaomi 12 and Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G have the same battery size of 4500 mAh. Because it features a smaller screen and a processor designed with a 4 nm manufacturing process, the former should be able to provide longer battery life. It also charges faster thanks to 67W fast charging and 50W fast wireless charging.

Price

In the global market, Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G costs €750/$846 while Xiaomi 12 costs around €510/$575 in China.

Overall, Xiaomi 12 appears to be a better device when we ignore the secondary cameras, but it is also rather small and may not be ideal for productivity or gaming users.
