Instagram is experimenting with a new user well-being feature called “Take a Break,” which will allow users to set reminders for when they should take some rest from the app after a specific amount of usage time – either 10, 20, or 30 minutes.
What is Instagram’s “take a break” option?
On his Instagram post, Mosseri detailed the new “take a break” option.
The new choice, which some users will be prompted to choose from their feed, allows you to designate a time period for a reminder to take a break from the app, after which it offers alternatives for getting away for a bit.

This could encourage more individuals to be more aware of their Instagram activity, and at the absolute least, serve as a gentle nudge to take a break every now and then rather than being drawn into content rabbit holes or endless scrolling for hours on end.
The functionality is built on Meta’s current health solutions, with Facebook and Instagram both providing time limitation reminders to better manage your time across all apps.
