Nike and Sony join forces to design these shoes based on PS5. They will be available next month and feature custom motifs dedicated to Sony’s new console. We have been able to see the first images.

PlayStation 5 hit the worldwide market last November, and while it remains an elusive console to find, Sony’s new console has managed to post healthy sales figures since its debut. While gamers enjoy the cutting-edge and powerful features of this platform, the company has joined forces with Nike to create a pair of PS5-based running shoes. Dubbed the PG 5 PlayStation 5, they are set to be available next May and we have already been able to enjoy their first batch of images.

PG 5 PlayStation 5, the Nike inspired by the Sony console

Nike has joined forces with Sony to release two new models of Nike PG5 basketball shoes, which have the name of LA Clippers star Paul George engraved on them. The first model is blue and is designed to resemble the PS5 menu screen; the second design is white and seeks to look more like the console itself. We have known the photos of the sneakers thanks to the Instagram account LACEUPHK, a Hong Kong leaker who did not hesitate to share the images about two weeks ago.

From the Sneaker Files portal, meanwhile, they now report that the sneakers are set to hit stores in May. So gamers better are ready to get their hands on their PG 5 PlayStation 5 sneakers before the lack of stock takes hold of this Sony product again as well. It looks like the price of these shoes would be around $110.

This is not the first time that Nike, Paul George, and Sony have teamed up to create a sneaker model inspired by the company’s consoles: in 2018 they created the Nike PG-2 PlayStation Colorway, intended to resemble the original PlayStation. A little later that same year, the Nike PG2.5 was also put on sale, in gray shades.
