Apple has just launched the new iMac 2021 and today we are going to talk about its specs, price, and release date. This is a revolutionary computer for the company.
Apple iMac 2021 specs
In a keynote full of news, Apple has had time to present the new AirTags, a new iPad Pro and even a new Apple TV, all together with the new iMac 2021. The device debuts a new design, where the display stands out as a kind of iPad Pro embedded in a stand similar to the Mac Pro’s XDR Display. It is a clear inspiration for the brand’s most popular desktop.
The profile of the device is really impressive for its thinness. These new computers come in seven different colors: blue, purple, red, orange, yellow, and green.
M1 processor and numerous internal innovations
Apple has explained that it could not change the design of the device because its internal components did not allow it. The previous generation had parts and pieces that were too large for the design the company wanted.
Thanks to the M1, the processor created by Apple, they have been able to reduce the size of the internal components forever. The technical improvements we will see in the new iMac 2021, thanks to M1, are as follows:
- CPU 85% more powerful than the previous generation.
- GPU up to twice as powerful.
- The performance of machine learning apps is up to three times better.
- 24-inch display, reduced bezels, and more enhancements.
The screen of this new iMac 2021 is 24 inches, although it is actually 23.5 inches. This model replaces the 21.5-inch model that Apple has been using until now.
The screen resolution is 4,480x 2,520 pixels for a total of 11.3 million pixels. Apple calls it a 4.5K display, with a slightly higher resolution than the 4K of the previous generation. The rest of the specs are True Tone, P3 color gamut, and 500 nits of peak brightness. It also features an anti-glare film covering the screen.
The screen has reduced the size of its top and side frames considerably while maintaining the characteristic chin of the iMac. At the top, we will see a 1080p FaceTime camera, the best quality in a Mac according to Apple. The proposal is rounded off with studio-quality microphones and six speakers throughout the unit.
Apple iMac 2021 release date and price
The new computer comes with a new-generation power connector, which plugs into the computer magnetically. Touch ID comes to the iMac thanks to the new Magic Keyboard, which embeds this function in one of its keys. This keyboard matches the preferred color, as does the new Magic Mouse.
There are three different models, we are going to leave you with the price list:
- 24-inch iMac, 8 CPU cores and 7 GPU cores, and 256GB for $1,299.
- 24-inch iMac, 8 CPU cores and 8 GPU cores, and 256GB for $1,499.
- 24-inch iMac, 8 CPU cores and 8 GPU cores, and 512GB for $1,699.
It can be pre-ordered starting April 30th and the first shipments will arrive in the second half of May.
