It was at the beginning of 2020, more precisely in February, when Facebook announced that the application to access the social network was going to stop working on Windows 10. Days later, the application disappeared from the Microsoft Store and so we have been until today, already in March 2021.
Facebook returns as an app to Windows 10
From a point where Facebook went on to recommend users to use the web, we now have again an application in the Microsoft Store that, although beta, allows access to all the functions and possibilities of Facebook again.
The application to access Facebook has returned, but with changes that can not be overlooked. Facebook for Windows 10 is now a PWA, a progressive web application, with all that this implies when it comes to receiving improvements and updates.
A Facebook application that among other improvements, has the option to use both a dark mode (the same as in the web version) and the traditional light mode.
The Facebook application, which has returned as a PWA, enabled for use in Edge with Chromium technology, is a beta version, so it can always present some problem. In that case, they warn that they have included a kind of access to generate “feedback” by selecting ‘Report a problem’ in the drop-down menu in the upper right corner.
The new Facebook application that you can download from this link, will not run on all versions of Windows 10. It will be necessary to have at least Build 19003 or what is the same, Windows 10 May 2019 Update or a later version.
