Apple has released a new firmware update for the AirPods Max. The first update that we see on these headphones since their launch in December carries by version number 3C39.
Apple releases firmware update for AirPods Max
Of this update, which replaces the previous version 3C16, we know rather little, as Apple has not given information about the corrections or improvements it contains. One of the candidates, however, is the management of battery consumption inside the case of the headphones, which in some cases could be somewhat higher than one would expect.
As with the AirPods and AirPods Pro, the AirPods Max updates autonomously as long as they are near an iPhone or iPad. To encourage the update we can plug the headphones into the power, although it is not necessary.
We can check which version our AirPods Max has installed from our iPhone or iPad. First, we connect the headphones to the device, then the steps are as follows:
- We open the Settings app on our iPhone or iPad.
- Go to General.
- Tap on Information.
- Tap on AirPods.
- We look for Firmware Version.Firmware updates don’t enjoy the same visibility as iOS software updates, for example. They don’t introduce new emojis, but they polish the experience and improve the performance and operation of accessories. Undoubtedly a welcome improvement.
