Whatsapp stops showing previews of YouTube videos The messaging app no longer allows you to view a video within chats.
Hundreds of millions of WhatsApp messages are shared around the world every day, many of which are probably YouTube videos. Until now, it was normal to paste a link to one of these contents and wait a few moments until the chat was able to generate a preview.
- Dark mode and stickers finally come to Whatsapp Web
- New WhatsApp update brings a Shopping Cart feature
- How to recover your contacts on WhatsApp?
But that marvel we all enjoyed in recent months has suddenly disappeared. There’s no more preview, no more pre-visualization, much less a floating window, and we only receive a blue link that, when clicked, leads us inexorably to YouTube.
Whatsapp stops showing previews of YouTube videos
Many users have attributed this problem with their own reasons. The same thing happens with web links that we paste quickly and do not give time to generate a preview. Even when we have a bad connection in WhatsApp Web, it is possible when sending a link to a news item, the app doesn’t finish showing a preview of the content. So with videos, the same… but this is not the case.
According to some sources, this seems to be caused by WhatsApp, which does not finish connecting properly to YouTube. So it neither offers a preview of the video nor allows running the window mode to continue viewing messages while we play it. Also, those who tried to upgrade to the latest version of WhatsApp have been able to verify that the error is not fixed. It persists with the latest version, so we will have to wait to see if WhatsApp will fix it or make a statement about it.
