Stadia introduces instant messaging through its application. Stadia is now in its first year of service and it continues to make progress in the market. These past weeks, a series of new features have been introduced to the Google platform, such as the possibility of sharing games with friends and family in an easy way. Now it is the turn of a new feature, which is already being deployed among users.

  • What is Stadia: Google explains after a year
  • Amazon Luna opens its streaming service in early access
  • Xbox will bring Project xCloud to TVs next year

Stadia really leaves us with four new features, which they have announced on their website. Although there is one that stands out from the rest and that many have been waiting for a long time: chatting with friends is now allowed within the application. The new message section is now official.

Stadia introduces instant messaging

Both the web version and the Android application of Stadia introduce this message section. From here you will be able to chat with your friends and family without leaving the platform. When you start using this feature, you are first asked to set up your privacy, to determine who can and cannot send you messages. Once configured, it is now possible to send messages.

Users are given the ability to send messages in individual chats as well as in group chats. In addition, when you now see a user’s profile, you enter the possibility to send a message. Google has also improved the user profiles with more information, although each one will be able to configure if they want others to be able to see it.

In addition, Stadia’s Android application also allows the sharing of screenshots or audio clips, only instead of sharing the file itself, a link will be shared. The video captures now include the audio of the chat voice, this means that now our voice will appear in our recordings, in addition to the rest of the players.

The deployment of these functions is already taking place in the new version of the application for Android. The new version of the application can be downloaded from the Play Store, at the following link:
