The launch of the new budget iPhone is imminent. As Apple itself reveals, it will not be iPhone 9, but iPhone SE again.
Apple does not yet list the new model in its own store, but it does have a Belkin screen protector that should fit both the new SE and the iPhone 7 and 8 models.
Apple reveals the name of the new budget iPhone
This suggests that Apple’s new budget iPhone, as previously advertised, will have a 4.7-inch screen and should probably be based on the design of the iPhone 8. The product is still available in the US store.
In addition, 9to5 Mac has more details on the equipment of the upcoming iPhone SE (2020). So it should come in stores in the colors white, black and red with the storage options of 64, 128 and 256GB. Furthermore, it is expected that it is equipped with an A13 processor, which is also installed in the current iPhones.
Will there be an iPhone SE Plus?
The new model may not only appear as a 4.7-inch but also as a 5.5-inch variant, which may be marketed as an iPhone SE Plus. Evidence of such a device is seen in iOS 14 code.
The two new iPhones could replace the iPhone 8 series, which was presented together with the iPhone X in 2017. In terms of price, it is expected that the new models prices will start from $400 – and thus cheaper than the iPhone 8, which currently costs over $500 and is the most affordable entry into the Apple smartphone world.
The first iPhone SE was presented in March 2016 for $399. It essentially had the features of the iPhone 6s from 2015, which was inserted into the iPhone 5’s case.
