X has launched a new feature called “React with Video” for iOS devices, enabling users to record video responses to existing posts. Users can present their video either in a split-screen format or superimposed over the original post. This new capability is marketed as an alternative to traditional Reposts or Quote Posts.

A spokesperson for X stated the feature will also be available for Android devices and the web client in the near future. The introduction of this feature aligns with similar offerings on TikTok, which has allowed reaction videos since approximately 2021, making it a popular element of that platform.

X has also rolled out additional features recently, including custom timelines and a tool to temporarily snooze specific topics for up to 24 hours. However, the company has also discontinued the Communities feature, which failed to gain traction.

In a significant change for free accounts, X has implemented new posting limitations, reducing the number of allowable posts from 2,400 to 50 per day, and replies from an unrestricted amount to just 200 daily.
