X has launched a new private history tab for users’ bookmarks, likes, articles, and long videos on its iOS app. Nikita Bier, X’s head of product, announced that this feature is available starting today, stating, “The Timeline moves fast, so we hope this creates a better place for catching up on long-form content.”
The new history tab replaces the previous bookmarks tab, allowing users to have a centralized location for saving tweets, as well as for accessing videos and articles they have viewed on the platform. The content in this new section is intended to remain private, following X’s earlier adjustments that reduced the visibility of likes.
Bookmarks consist of tweets users choose to save, while the videos and articles section includes content viewed on X. The introduction of the history tab aims to offer users a convenient way to revisit interesting material encountered while scrolling through their feeds. The move comes as the platform faces ongoing challenges.
An image shared by Bier humorously featured the iPhone’s time set to 4:20. Despite the overall issues facing X, the history tab is perceived as a potentially valuable addition for users seeking to catch up on content in a rapidly moving feed.
