Apple is testing a new feature for Safari called “Organize Tabs,” which is expected to debut with iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The feature will automatically arrange Safari tabs for users, giving them the option to select between automatic grouping or manual organization.

Gurman noted that “Organize Tabs” will not carry the Apple Intelligence label, although it is likely to utilize some form of artificial intelligence. This feature builds on the Tab Groups option introduced in Safari 15 in 2021.

Google introduced a similar feature named “Organize Similar Tabs” in Chrome in January 2024, branding it as part of its new generative AI capabilities. Historically, Apple has been perceived as lagging behind competitors in the integration of AI-powered features.

A possible preview of the “Organize Tabs” feature could occur during WWDC26, which is scheduled for June 8.
