Apple has rolled out the first developer beta versions of iOS 26.5, iPadOS 26.5, macOS 26.5, visionOS 26.5, and watchOS 26.5. This release follows the stable updates of iOS 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4 launched just a week ago.
The iOS 26.5 beta includes various minor changes and bug fixes. New purchase options will be available for developers in the App Store as part of this update. The beta introduces a ‘Suggested Places’ section in the Maps app, which is part of Apple’s initiative to integrate ads into the platform. This feature will appear inside the app’s search box.
Additional enhancements include support for RCS messaging, Live Activities for third-party accessories in the EU, and improved accessory pairing functionalities. A new Inuktitut keyboard layout has also been added. The update offers enhanced options for sharing message attachments between iPhone and Android devices. References to a ‘Year in Review for 2026’ feature have also been discovered in Apple Books.
Apple frequently updates its operating systems to enhance user experience and introduce new functionalities. The company continuously seeks to integrate its platforms more seamlessly while addressing developer needs.
