Sony Interactive Entertainment will reportedly cease releasing its first-party PlayStation 5 games on PC platforms, reserving future titles exclusively for the PS5 console.

This shift represents a reversal of Sony’s multi-platform strategy initiated in 2020, impacting the availability of major single-player releases for PC players, according to Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier.

Games such as “Horizon Zero Dawn,” “The Last of Us Part I,” “Ghost of Tsushima,” and “God of War Ragnarök” have previously launched on PC.

Upcoming titles including “Ghost of Yotei” and “Saros” are now expected to be PlayStation 5 exclusives.

Sony-published online games, such as “Marvel Tokon” and “Marathon,” will maintain their planned multi-platform releases, sources told Bloomberg.

“Death Stranding 2,” which debuted on PS5 last year, is still scheduled for a PC release in 2026.

The strategic change may be influenced by the sales performance of PS5 games on PC, which generally arrive at least a year after their console launch.

Unnamed PlayStation insiders also expressed concerns to Bloomberg that PC releases could negatively affect the PlayStation brand and future console sales.

A PlayStation spokesperson declined to comment on Bloomberg’s report.
