Canon has unveiled a Limited Edition version of its PowerShot G7 X III compact camera to mark the 30-year anniversary of the PowerShot line, which began in 1996 with a model featuring a 0.5-megapixel sensor.

The original PowerShot G7 X III launched nearly seven years ago and targeted vloggers with features like vertical video support for Instagram. It includes a 20.1-megapixel sensor, a flip-up 3-inch touchscreen, a 24-100mm f/1.8-2.8 zoom lens, and a microphone input. The camera records 4K video at 30 frames per second without cropping, 1080p at 120 frames per second, and supports direct streaming to YouTube over Wi-Fi. It originally retailed for $749.

The G7 X III faced short supply for years, with used models selling above the list price due to popularity among influencers. In August 2025, Canon announced increased production, and the camera returned to stock a few months later at $880.

The Limited Edition model features a new graphite color, a knurled front ring, and a 30-year anniversary logo on the body. Canon described the knurled ring as designed to exude “luxury and quality” and the logo as intended “to create a special feeling suitable for limited edition models.” It retains all original specifications and includes a Peak Design cuff wrist strap and a 32 GB SD card. Priced at $1,299, shipping begins in April 2026.

Canon also announced two new RF-mount full-frame lenses. The RF 14mm f/1.4 L VCM prime lens costs $2,599 and offers bright, high-quality ultra-wide-angle optics. The RF 7-14mm f/2.8-3.5 L Fisheye STM zoom lens is priced at $1,899 and provides up to a 190-degree perspective at its widest setting.
