Sony has announced the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog additions for August 2025, revealing 11 new titles for Extra and Premium tier subscribers. These additions, detailed in a PlayStation.Blog post, will become available on August 19, 2025, expanding the service’s game library significantly.
Among the highlighted titles returning to the service is Insomniac Games’ original superhero video game, Marvel’s Spider-Man, which was previously removed in April 2023. This popular title will be available for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 users. Another significant addition for Extra and Premium tiers is NetherRealm Studios’ fighting game, Mortal Kombat 1, available on PS5.
The August 2025 lineup also features a day-one launch for Sword of the Sea from Giant Squid, accessible to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers. This marks a notable inclusion for a new title directly into the subscription service.
Beyond these major releases, the catalog will also include a variety of other games. These are Harold Halibut (PS5), Indika (PS5), Earth Defense Force 6 (PS5, PS4), Unicorn Overlord (PS5, PS4), Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key (PS5, PS4), and Coral Island (PS5).
For PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers, two significant PlayStation 1 classics from Capcom are being added: Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. Both legacy titles will be playable on PS4 and PS5. Furthermore, Premium subscribers will gain access to a five-hour game trial for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.
