TikTok has launched a new app version, “TikTok Pro,” in Germany, Portugal, and Spain, featuring its “Sunshine Programme” charity initiative.
The programme allows users to earn “virtual sunshine” by inviting others to join TikTok Pro and interacting with charity content, such as liking videos, reposting, following charity accounts, or searching for causes. Users donate this virtual sunshine to chosen charities, triggering actual financial donations from TikTok.
TikTok Pro offers the same content as the regular app but eliminates key features: it contains no livestreams, shopping capabilities, or advertisements.
The company stated the goal is “to enable people in Europe to support charitable organizations while discovering engaging and entertaining TikTok content” through this ad-free experience.
