The PlayStation 5 version of Grand Theft Auto Online, is available digitally and can be preloaded from the PlayStation Store. The game will be free through June 14 at launch. After that, GTA Online will cost $19.99. Look for the game page with the PS5 logo on it to discover Grand Theft Auto Online for PS5 on the PlayStation Store. On PS5, the stand-alone edition of GTA Online takes up 86.84 GB of storage space. Through March 14, PlayStation Plus members will earn GTA$1 million in virtual currency for GTA Online.

The Grand Theft Auto 5 on Xbox Series X is available digitally and can be preinstalled from the Xbox Games Store. The game will cost $19.99 through June 14 at launch, though it can also be purchased for the full price of $39.99 after that date.

How to transfer GTA 5 and GTA Online saves from PS4/Xbox One?
As part of the transition, Rockstar Games will enable players to migrate their story saves and GTA Online profiles from the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Grand Theft Auto 5.
Here’s the short version of how to do that, according to Rockstar’s help page:
- Ensuring your Rockstar Games Social Club account is linked to the preferred console account.
- Uploading your GTAV Story Mode Save Game progress from PlayStation 4 or Xbox One to the Rockstar Games Social Club.
- Opening GTAV on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S and downloading the Save Game.
Players can update their Save Game until they begin downloading their Save Game on the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X.
