Samsung to reveal Galaxy S22 series at Galaxy Unpacked on February 9

Samsung is expected to announce three new smartphones: Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra at Galaxy Unpacked February 2022.

Samsung has announced the date for the debut of its next-generation flagship smartphone series, Galaxy S22. On February 9, Samsung will host a Galaxy Unpacked event to announce the device. At the event, Samsung is expected to announce three new smartphones: Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Samsung is also expected to introduce the Galaxy Tab S8 series at the event, alongside its smartphones.

The firm’s invitation reads:

“True innovations don’t just evolve with the world – they help shape it. To create the devices that push us ahead, rewrite the future and bring light to the dark, we must continue to break the rules of what is possible with a smartphone.

Join Samsung Electronics on February 9, 2022 for the next Galaxy Unpacked as we set an epic new standard for smartphones with the most noteworthy S series ever created.”

Samsung Galaxy S22 series expected specs

The latest leaks suggest that Samsung Galaxy S22 will come with a 6.06-inch dynamic AMOLED display. Again, according to the rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S22+ may have a 6.5-inch dynamic AMOLED display, whereas the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is expected to feature an LTPO Dynamic AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution. All phones will support a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 series will run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Exynos 2200 SoC, depending on the market.

The Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ are expected to include a triple rear camera system with a 50MP primary lens, a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera. Both smartphones are expected to have a 10MP front-facing camera, like the Samsung Galaxy S21 and Samsung Galaxy S21+. Although, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will offer a triple camera setup on the back with a higher quality:a 108MP main camera, 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 10MP telephoto lens. Not to mention the 32MP front camera.

According to the latest rumors, Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra comes with a 14.6 Super AMOLED display. The tablet is also anticipated to have a notch, which will house the twin 12MP cameras.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ will, however, have a 12.7-inch touchscreen display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor is supposedly used in all three versions of the series. The device is anticipated to ship with Android 12, but it will be overlaid with One UI.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8+ will come with 8GB RAM but you will be able to choose two different versions offering 128GB or 256GB internal storage. But the Ultra version, according to rumors, will offer 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. Experts say the new tablets will offer DeX support and will be charged with a USB Type C cable.

The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is expected to have an 11,200 mAh battery, whereas the Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy S8 will each have 10900 mAh batteries. All of the versions are expected to have quad-speakers produced by Dolby Atmos and two rear cameras with a 13MP main and 6MP ultra-wide-angle lens. Most likely they will all support S Pen.
