If you don’t know what are Soundmojis and how to use them in a Messenger chat, don’t worry because we have prepared an easy step by step tutorial today. Facebook released a new feature last month called Soundmojis that lets you send images in messages with pre-recorded sound effects.
“We’re launching an entire Soundmoji library for you to choose from, which we’ll update regularly with new sound effects and famous sound bites,” said Facebook on its official blog in July.
What are Soundmojis?
These Soundmojis are the brand name for a new type of emoji that combines an emoji and a soundbite.
A Soundmoji is not just a classic emoji icon paired with an audio clip or sound but Meta says that it will feature audio clips from artists, as well as TV shows and movie snippets.
For example, the hourglass emoji plays Drake’s “you only live once, that’s the motto” lyric. Another example would be the fist bump emoji, if you use that one you’ll hear the “I don’t have friends, I got family” line from Fast and Furious 7.
How to use Soundmojis in Facebook Messenger?
It’s really easy to find and send Soundmojis in a Messenger conversation, just follow these steps:
- Enter a Messenger chat.
- Tap onto the emoji icon.
- You’ll see a loudspeaker icon, click on that one.
- You’ll see plenty of options, choose any of the Soundmojis.
- It is possible to preview the sound by tapping on any of the Soundmoji.
- Then, you can send it like any other message by clicking on the “send” button.
According to Facebook, soundmojis are “enhancing private/semi-private social interactions, offering audio-based interactions and offering new ways for channels to monetize partnerships — in this case, through audio clips from TV and music studios.”
