Twitch began selling Sub Tokens in 2019 as a method for iOS users to support their favorite streamers. Sub Tokens offer the same benefits, just like subscribing from the desktop, users can enjoy ad-free streams and subscriber-only chat. However, they are only one-time purchases that can be redeemed when you choose. Twitch is eliminating the previous approach in favor of a less complicated one.

Now you can purchase recurring subscriptions on Twitch for iOS

The option to purchase recurring subscriptions is available once you’ve updated the Twitch iOS app to the most recent version. It’s a change the firm says it implemented based on user suggestions.

Twitch said in a blog post: “We learned from the community that non-renewing Sub Tokens on iOS can prevent them from consistently enjoying subscriber benefits and supporting their favorite creators”

With the adjustment, you will no longer have to be concerned about losing access to your subscriber perks or missing a sub streak.

Sub Tokens are still available for now. You may continue to redeem tokens until January 10th, 2022. Following the deadline, any remaining Sub Tokens on your account will be refunded by Apple.
