New Apple Maps 3D maps are now available. Apple promised to release new interactive and more detailed maps at WWDC 2021 when they presented the new features of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15. However, after the official launch of the operating systems, they have not wanted to focus on these new features of Apple Maps until now. The new visual maps have arrived in some territories such as London, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco (Bay Area).
Here are the new 3D views of iOS 15 maps in Apple Maps
The new Apple Maps in iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 include a new 3D view mode that includes three-dimensional reconstructions of the most emblematic buildings in some cities. Apple has announced that these maps are available from today in London, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco. However, in the upcoming months Philadelphia, San Diego, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, and Washington DC will be added to the catalog too.
These maps provide detailed, visual, and realistic access to important buildings. For example, the Royal Albert Hall in London or the Statue of Liberty in New York. It is a different way of visualizing maps. The truth is that the result obtained with these new maps is quite far from the quality of the old ones.
In addition, Apple has highlighted the new iOS 15 navigation mode, they have been working on lanes and other navigation elements such as traffic lights or mobile radars.
