This is an important year for Microsoft, a company that is not only working on Windows 11 but also redesigning Microsoft Office in multiple aspects.
Microsoft not only bets on Windows 11
Betting on a design update in Windows 11 also means changing other in-house programs so that the contrast with this new version is not too great. Something like this seems to have happened with Office, the office suite is also renewed along with the operating system and above all, it seems to focus on what has to do with its design.
The announcement has come directly from Microsoft and it describes the most important changes of this new version that for the moment is in the beta phase, but it will not take too long to arrive and probably will do so with Windows 11.
The first thing we should know is that it will be more powerful and will have a 64-bit version for ARM architecture in Windows, an aspect that has been expected for some time. The improvements will seek to facilitate work on larger documents with a multitude of images. Microsoft wants to put an end to waiting times when loading or moving around.
But the most important thing seems to be the update in the design to adapt to Windows 11. All Office tools are renewed based on the company’s language Fluent Design: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Access, Project, Publisher, and Visio.
The changes can be detected at first glance, with a simplification of the menus, the commitment to light colors, and the possibility of quickly activating the dark mode, so much so that it will do so automatically if Windows 11 is in that mode.
But to discover all the secrets it hides, we will not have to wait too long, this version of Microsoft Office has already been released for members of Office Insiders. Although these users will not be able to test it without further ado, they must also have installed Windows 11 Insider Preview, which we talked about recently, and have deleted their current version of Office.
We will see how this new version of Office works, but it is clear that 2021 is going to be an important year for Microsoft and we all hope to enjoy its new programs to the fullest, or at least the updates of the most popular ones.
