The beta of Microsoft’s cloud gaming platform, Xbox Cloud Gaming, will be available on Windows 10 PCs, Apple phones, and tablets; as promised last year, starting tomorrow.
They will start sending the first invitations to selected users who have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, to become part of the new limited beta. These users will be the first ones to enjoy the Xbox Cloud Gaming experience directly through some web browsers.
The platform is committed to sending more invitations over time in the 22 countries where its service is available. Xbox Cloud will initially try to adjust some features and provide a uniform and consistent experience across all platforms where the service is available throughout the early beta stages, taking into account user feedback and suggestions.
Xbox Cloud Gaming beta is coming to Windows 10 PCs and iPhones
The lucky ones who receive the invitations over time will have access to a catalog of games made up of more than 100 titles, which they can enjoy those games through Edge, Google Chrome, or Safari, for which they will only have to go to the website xbox.com/play to start enjoying the Xbox Gaming experience.
This way, the service will try to circumvent the limitations that have been found in some app stores along the way. Apple’s App Store conditions prevented the company from being able to bring a native application to iOS.
Those invited to the new limited beta will only need to have a Bluetooth or USB compatible controller, or they can use custom touch controls for more than 50 games.
In this regard, they have an updated list of compatible devices in their Support Center. This is a further step in the platform’s goal to expand to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate users over the coming months.
