Video game development sees a helping hand from the big company by establishing the Amazon Games Montreal studio.

Amazon Games Montreal opens its doors and works on a multiplayer game

The recent Google Stadia disaster has got us all a bit on edge. After the giant company’s studio cancellations and closures, we feared that something similar was going to happen to the other company that jumped on the distributor bandwagon at the same time. It seems that this will not be the case. Today it has been made public that the Amazon Games Montreal branch is opening, and they are already working on a project.

This has been announced by Amazon through its official website. The title they are working on will be a multiplayer video game-oriented towards online play, a proposal not too far from the title that the company already released, Crucible. While Montreal works on this unnamed project, Amazon will continue working on its single-player proposal, New World.

That game we can expect to see this 2021, while Montreal’s game lacks a release window.

Amazon Games has not been the healthiest company to date in terms of releases and production. Crucible is the only video game they have been able to release and the title failed to stand out in the multiplayer arena in 2020. The company has yet to find its place among gamers and with some time and experimentation perhaps they will eventually find it.

This is one of the multiple proposals that Amazon has to keep its customers month after month. In addition to the service as an online store and home delivery service, the company has also been able to stand out for a video-on-demand platform with solid success. The world of video games is the next to be conquered, although breaking into it is more difficult than many would like to accept.

After a year without being released, Black Widow on Disney+ will be the reality that theaters will have to deal with.

It’s been a very long year for the poor avenger. After a long wait, it looks like Marvel’s next film will finally be coming out face to face with the public. The film starring Scarlett Johansson is coming to theaters and digital platforms. Yes, Black Widow on Disney+ is something we will see become a reality soon, although for that it had to be delayed a bit more again.

The Marvel Studios movie is going to have to wait until July 9. From that date, it will be available to watch both in theaters and on Disney+ premium access for the modest price of $23,99. The same has happened with recent important releases, such as Mulan or Raya and the Last Dragon. Meanwhile, Cruella takes over Black Widow’s previous slot and will also be released in theaters and on the digital platform on May 7.

You can watch the Black Widow trailer from almost a year ago now (a year!) below to refresh your memory.

It’s a bit of an odd time to bring out the Black Widow movie. Originally planned as the kickoff to Phase 4, this film tells us the adventures of Natasha Romanoff before the events of Avengers: Infinity War. A family problem and unresolved past issues force the super spy to come out into the open to confront the Red Room, responsible for her creation as the perfect assassin.

It is by no means the project that kicks off Phase 4 anymore. By the time it premieres, three series will already be out on the digital platform – Wandavision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and the highly anticipated Loki. Still, let’s hope Natasha finds her place with audiences.
