Amazon is working on a shuffle button for the Prime Video app and could be ahead of the same feature that Netflix has been working on for months.
Amazon Prime Video is another popular subscription service next to Netflix, and offering a much lower subscription price, although with a much lower rate of premieres and original content, but it is certainly a very interesting option if you usually use Amazon for online shopping.
For quite some time Netflix has been testing a feature that will allow us to play series and movies randomly.
The feature has not yet been implemented to all users and could arrive in a stable version throughout this first half of the year, although in some countries it could end up being called directly “play something”, since this is how it appeared in a previous test.
Be that as it may, Amazon wants to get ahead of Netflix, and according to Android Police, they are working on a shuffle option, although it seems to be of lesser depth compared to what Netflix is designing.
According to the first information, this shuffle function for Amazon Prime Video seems somewhat limited since it will only allow us to play randomly the episodes of a particular season.
We will see if Amazon finally gets ahead of Netflix with this feature in the coming weeks, and ends up offering a more extended function and not just limited to a particular season.
