A few days ago some Xbox Series X users complained about controller disconnect problems and Microsoft released an update to solve those issues. Specifically, users referred to the response time of the controllers of both the Xbox X Series and the S Series.
It is an update released by the company earlier this week and you can simply install it by turning on the console. If you have enabled automatic updates, there should be no problems.
Xbox Series X update will solve controller disconnect issues
This is not a bug exclusive to Xbox, it is a problem seen when using the controller with a PC too. The problems were due to the unresponsiveness of some buttons. Unfortunately, users had to restart the console to fix the issue.
“In addition to the new features, this release also fixes many of the controller disconnects players have reported,” said Jason Ronald of the Xbox team. This update also adds switches for Auto HDR and FPS Boost and improvements to take advantage of the full potential of the new Xbox wireless headset.

You can contact Microsoft to give feedback
On the other hand, if you continue to encounter problems with the controller, you can contact Xbox support from this link, they are expecting feedback from users. However, first, try updating your console, as it is almost certain that the drifting problem has been solved.
