Android TV revamps its interface to resemble Google TV.
In 2021 the first TVs with Google TV will arrive on the market from manufacturers such as Sony or TCL. Android TV revamps its interface to resemble Google TV
Google has begun to update the current TVs with Android TV to unify the user experience. Thus, TVs with Android TV and Google’s TV will have a very similar interface.
The novelty of the redesign of Android TV is that the home screen is now divided into tabs: Search, Main, Discover, and Apps. This way all the content will be more organized.
The main difference with Google TV is that we do not have the Collection tab, so we do not have the list synchronized with the Google search engine of the series and movies we want to watch.
The update will arrive in the coming days to TVs in the United States, Australia, Canada, Germany, and France to arrive a few weeks later to more countries. This new interface will be available for TVs with Android TV 8.0 or higher. So far only TVs with Android TV 9.0 could [manually install the Google TV app launcher](the United States, as well as in Australia, Canada, Germany, and France).
