It almost smells like Christmas already, but Steam Autumn Sale 2020 is one of those reminders that we still have some dates and events left to mark before we have to decorate our house.
Be that as it may, Steam reminds us that Thanksgiving is just around the corner and, although these sales are not usually as popular as the winter ones, the truth is that year after year they have been gaining traction until reaching the current point, where little or nothing has to envy the Christmas season. And that’s because, in addition to great discounts, the first phase of the Steam prizes also arrives, in which all users of the popular game store can participate.
Best game deals in Steam Autumn Sale 2020
Let’s first talk about the sales and some particularly noteworthy titles that we can find there. Among those highlighted on the home page during the first day of the sales, the presence of The Sims 4 stands out, another example of the collaboration established between Electronic Arts and Valve. And without leaving EA, we can also find Jedi: Fallen Order for 24$, FIFA 21 and the remastered collection of Command & Conquer. If you’re a Star Wars fan you may have noticed that I mentioned Fallen Order, but there are actually many titles based on the saga with more than interesting discounts.
By franchises, we find very interesting discounts in sagas like Doom, with the complete franchise and the most recent of the titles, Doom Eternal, with the lowest price it has had so far on Steam, 20$. You’ll also find Halo: The Master Chief Collection, discounts on the entire Sid Meier’s Civilization collection (Civilization VI is now 15$), all Don’t Starve and the entire Bioshock collection, to name just a few.
- Steam will support PS5 DualSense and Xbox Series X controllers
- Steam Playtest will facilitate free testing of games under development
Steam 2020 Awards
Also the first phase of this year’s edition of the popular Steam prizes, from which every year comes the GOTY (game of the year), a special edition of the winning game truffle complements and for a generally attractive price is here. So far, the nomination phase has been opened in 10 categories, and all users can vote to choose the candidates who will go on to the final phase. These are the categories:
- Game of the Year Award
- VR Game of the Year Award
- Labor of Love Award
- Better With Friends Award
- Outstanding Visual Style Award
- Most Innovative Gameplay Award
- Best Game You Suck At Award
- Best Soundtrack Award
- Outstanding Story-Rich Game Award

Except for the third category of the Steam awards, in which obviously the nominees must be a few years old, for the rest of the titles it is essential that they are this year’s releases.
