Xiaomi will soon have its own ‘Nespresso’ style capsule coffee machine. And of course it will be smart.

Xiaomi is preparing its next hit, and this time we are talking about coffee. Home automation is usually successful, but it is even more so when it comes to machines with widespread use.

  • Xiaomi is going to launch its own Chromecast: Mi TV Stick
  • Xiaomi will introduce 22 new products at Mi Fan Festival
  • Xiaomi 2020 Q1 results: Revenues rise 13.6% year-on-year

Now the company intends to launch another product under its Mijia brand via crowdfunding, this time a capsule based coffee machine, just like Nespresso.

Xiaomi already has a date for this crowdfunding project, on July 8, consumers will decide with their money if they want to support this idea from the Chinese firm. Since Xiaomi already has a similar machine on the market, it stands to reason that it will.

Features of Xiaomi ‘Nespresso’ style capsule coffe machine

Xiaomi has given very little information about this coffee machine. The crowdfunding will start on July 8, and as soon as it is available, it will be worth around 349 yuan (about 50 USD) during the campaign.

The retail price will be slightly more expensive, about 399 yuan that will transform into 60 USD. The cost will be competitive, as is already the norm in Xiaomi. It won’t be until “launch” day that we know more details about the machine.

Regarding the rest, Xiaomi has only said some details of the device. They seek “to reduce complexity and facilitate the consumption of good coffee with a single click”. The machine will arrive under the Mijia brand,  which will subject it to certain aspects, such as the fact that it will be intelligent and that we can control it via smartphone with its app.

They already did this before

Xiaomi already tried her luck a couple of months ago with the somewhat more expensive OneCup beverage machine, about $70. It is not only limited to preparing coffee; You can make soy milk, tea and other flavored drinks. This one is smaller, and has a more universal approach.

This machine, according to Xiaomi, can extract nutrients and aromatic ingredients of all kinds to improve the flavors of the drinks. We must remember that we are talking about more diversified flavors, such as tea with different ingredients, soy milk, etc.

The big problem with these machines is the same as always: availability. It is not known if Xiaomi will bring this machine and especially if we can import it without too many headaches if it cannot be done.
