Apple may unveil iPhone 17, M5 iPad Pro this week

Apple is anticipated to unveil over eight new products this week, with the iPhone 17 series taking center stage. A potential surprise appearance of the M5 iPad Pro is also gaining traction.

The upcoming event is expected to be filled with announcements, including four iPhone 17 models, the Apple Watch Ultra 3, AirPods Pro 3, and the Apple Watch Series 11.

While several rumored products are in the pipeline, the inclusion of the M5 iPad Pro was initially considered unlikely due to the keynote’s already packed schedule and the expectation that the debut of the M5 chip would require a more extensive introduction.

However, recent developments have shifted this perspective. A reputable leaker on X posted details about the M5 iPad Pro line, including 11-inch and 13-inch models in both Wi-Fi and cellular configurations, as well as information on the new Apple Watch lineup, including the SE 3.

The timing of these posts, just before Apple’s September 9 event, suggests that the new iPad Pros could be unveiled alongside the almost certain launch of the new Apple Watch products.

Further investigation revealed that September marks the 10-year anniversary of the original iPad Pro’s introduction. The first iPad Pro was announced on September 9, 2015, exactly a decade before this week’s event.

Launching the M5 iPad Pro on September 9 would coincide with this 10-year milestone, making it a logical choice for Apple, given that all signs already pointed to an autumn release for the new iPad Pro.

The convergence of the leak and the anniversary timing has increased speculation that the M5 iPad Pro will be part of this week’s announcements.
