The OnePlus 13’s successor is rumored to undergo significant changes, potentially launching as the OnePlus 15 to avoid the number “4,” which is considered unlucky in some Asian markets due to tetraphobia.
One of the most notable changes is the screen resolution. According to reports, the OnePlus 15 will feature a “1.5K” display, a downgrade from its predecessor. This decision was reportedly made to reduce costs and allocate resources to other areas of the phone.
Despite the lower resolution, the display size will be 6.78 inches and maintain a flat design with ultra-narrow bezels on all four sides. This suggests OnePlus is aiming for a modern, immersive viewing experience while managing costs.
The camera module is also set for a redesign. The circular camera island seen on previous OnePlus models will be replaced. The OnePlus 15 will sport three rear cameras, including a 50 MP main camera and a periscope telephoto camera, promising enhanced photography capabilities.
In a first for the company, OnePlus will reportedly introduce its own image brand. While the specific name remains unconfirmed, speculation suggests it could be Oppo’s Lumo. This move raises questions about the future of the Hasselblad co-branding, a long-standing feature of OnePlus flagships. It’s unclear whether the OnePlus 15 will feature three brands – OnePlus, Hasselblad, and the new imaging brand – or if the Hasselblad partnership will be discontinued.
Contrary to expectations, there will reportedly be no OnePlus 15 Pro model. The standard OnePlus 15 will be the sole flagship offering in this series.
