Samsung’s Galaxy S25 smartphones are set to be among the most powerful smartphones in 2025. According to recent leaks, the current models in the S25 lineup, including the S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra, will fly with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. This is a change from past practice when some Samsung models used its Exynos chipset, which was generally seen as more powerful.
The Galaxy S25 leaks that will make you rethink your next smartphone upgrade
The issue? Historically, Samsung has not been consistent with which chipset its Galaxy S series handsets adopt in each market, which means that customers in one place get Snapdragon editions while others are locked to Exynos. With the performance of metrics stemming from Snapdragon, users were frustrated. According to recent reports, IceUniverse, a known industry leaker, has claimed that Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series will boast the Snapdragon 8 Elite silicon on the Snapdragon side, ruling out any performance uncertainty between chipsets.
I reiterate that all versions of the Galaxy S25 series in the world adopt Snapdragon 8 Elite, and will not adopt Exynos.

The idea is to deliver the same performance quality as the Snapdragon 8 Elite across the entire Galaxy S25 series. As hype builds, numbers from benchmarking tests support the predicted performance increases over previous Exynos models. Since the S25 series is expected to be released in early 2025, Samsung has amassed interest from the public and stakeholders and looks forward to the official announcement of the S25 series during the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event.
In addition, RAM increases are also reported in the rumored lineup. According to initial rumors, all models will ship with 12GB of RAM, an upgrade from the previous generation’s 8GB base. We’re still not sure what caused this rise, but it bears the symptoms of an emphasis on AI on devices working against those already marketing such capabilities—such as Samsung with their Galaxy AI push.
Information suggests that the Galaxy S25 series will continue to be priced similarly to the last generation despite improved performance and specifications. Leaked by Jukanlosreve, the pricing for the Galaxy S25 will mimic the S24 series, with $799, $999, and $1,299 price tags for the S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra.
Consumers often assume that upgrading will come with a price hike; Samsung accomplishes this by continuing to provide specifications while maintaining the same price points or reducing the price (demonstrating that they are ‘more’ without a price increase). Also, reported storage capacities are staying the same with the S25, beginning at 128GB, as opposed to the 50 and 64GB capacities of the previous S21, and each Plus and Ultra model starting at 256 GB instead of the 100 and 128GB capacities of their S21 equivalents.
While the Galaxy S25 series is here, the design has also garnered the attention of many tech enthusiasts. Potentially more ergonomically pleasing, earlier design renders indicate a slightly slimmer profile than previous iterations. A variant of the Galaxy S25 Slim is due to launch sometime towards the end of 2025, while discussions are ongoing. The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is speculated to be the very model adhering to the design principles while being limited to people who find the slim lines of sleek products stylish.
That’s why we see more RAM and chipset upgrades on Samsung’s phones, simply to provide more AI features. Companies like Samsung and Google are adding more RAM because people want more AI on their phones. Like its Pixel 9, Google made models with 12GB and even 16GB of RAM to boost the AI. Samsung’s new Galaxy AI features are exciting for people. New smartphones and the next generation of AI emerge in this year’s Galaxy Unpacked event.
