Slack is expanding Slack AI features to help teams work more efficiently and effectively on the platform.
The updates aim to reduce message bombardment, make it easier to find important material and make keeping track of Slack channels more efficient.
Here’s everything we know about Slack AI.
What is Slack AI, and what does it offer with new features?
The Slack AI paid add-on is now available to all paid Slack users. It gives you access to productive AI features that are natively embedded throughout the platform. Here are some of the highlights:
Summaries
Provides users with summaries of the channels they want to follow. Summaries include locked messages, action items, and other important details.
AI-powered search
It refers to conversation history and content-related Slack messages. Users will also have several options to filter search results and focus on specific keywords or time periods.
Conversation summaries
It provides one-click summaries to stay up-to-date across message threads and channels. These summaries make it easy to review highlights, action items, and decisions quickly.
To address security concerns, Slack guarantees that the company does not use customer data to train big language models or serve other customers. All of Slack AI’s major language models are hosted in Slack’s virtual private cloud, ensuring customer data stays on-premises and for that organization’s use only.
Slack AI currently supports English, Spanish, and Japanese, with plans to add more languages soon. Slack AI plans to develop search and summarization capabilities for more data sources such as files, clips, and meetings.
Slack AI is a powerful tool that aims to help teams achieve more on the Slack platform. The new features will likely make Slack an even more valuable team communication and collaboration tool.
