Calling all Underworld adventurers! Supergiant Games has officially announced the Hades 2 technical test.

The Hades 2 Technical Test will focus on providing a sneak peek at the beginning stages of the game. Players will be able to explore the first major area of the underworld and encounter some of the early-game characters and content. While it won’t be the full experience of the early access version, it’s a fantastic opportunity to get a taste of what awaits.

This is your chance to explore the new underworld and provide valuable feedback before the game’s official early access launch.

How to join the Hades 2 technical test

Joining the Hades 2 Technical Test is simple. Here is what you need to do:

  1. Head over to the Hades 2 Steam page
  2. Find the “Playtest” section
  3. Click the button labeled “Request Access”

and you’re all set! Supergiant Games will then select a group of testers from those who applied. Keep an eye on your email, as they’ll send out invitations with download instructions to chosen participants.

Since the Technical Test is primarily for gathering feedback, Supergiant Games is starting small with the number of testers. This allows them to identify and address any technical issues that may arise before welcoming a wider audience during Early Access.

So, even if you don’t receive an invitation right away, don’t be discouraged!

Supergiant plans to gradually expand the test group over time, giving more players a chance to join the adventure.

Does Hades 2 have a release date?

The full release date for Hades 2 hasn’t been announced on Steam or any other platform yet. However, we do know it will be entering Early Access sometime in Q2 2024, which means between April and June this year.

The Technical Test is a separate event happening before Early Access to gather feedback and iron out any kinks.

A win-win for players and developers

Participating in the Hades 2 Technical Test is a mutually beneficial experience. Players get to enjoy an early glimpse of the game and influence its development with their feedback.

Supergiant Games, on the other hand, receives valuable insights from testers that help them polish the game before its official launch.

This collaborative approach ensures a smoother Early Access experience for everyone involved.

Is Zagreus in Hades II?

While details are still emerging, we know the protagonist of Hades 2 won’t be Zagreus, the escape-attempting prince from the first game. Instead, players will take on the role of Melinoe, a new character with a unique connection to the underworld.

There’s always a chance Zagreus could appear in the game though! The story follows the events of the first Hades, and with Zagreus’s newfound position, he might play a part in Melinoe’s adventure.

Will Hades 2 be on PS5?

Officially, there’s no confirmed list of platforms for the full release of Hades 2 just yet. However, based on the original Hades, we can make some educated guesses.

The first Hades was available on PC, Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Considering the success of the first game and the popularity of PS5 consoles, it’s highly likely Hades 2 will eventually be available on PS5 as well.

We’ll have to wait for an official announcement from Supergiant Games to know for sure, but chances are good that PS5 players will get to explore the new underworld in the future.

So, are you ready to delve into the depths of the underworld once more?

By requesting access to the Hades 2 Technical Test, you can become a pioneer in this exciting new adventure and help shape the future of the game!
