Spotify AI Playlist will take music discovery and curation to the next level. Thanks to the innovative feature, you can turn any genre of music you have in mind into playlists by typing commands, just like in ChatGPT.
So, how does the feature work?
Create playlists like a conversation with Spotify AI Playlist
AI Playlist, available for Android and iOS users in the UK and Australia, promises a new music discovery experience. Users can instantly create customized music mixes by typing commands such as “A metal playlist to calm my soul” or “Songs to listen to while working“.

AI Playlist blends Spotify’s powerful personalization technology with artificial intelligence to give you a special music experience. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced music listener, AI Playlist gives you new music to discover in addition to your favorite artists and genres.
With AI Playlist, your music commands know no limits! Use your imagination by referring to places, animals, events, movie characters, colors, and emojis. The most successful playlists are created with commands that combine genres, moods, artists, or decades.
Conversely, Spotify AI Playlist is still under development and is currently only available in the countries I shared above.
How to access Spotify AI Playlist?
- First, open the Spotify mobile app
- Tap “Your Library” in the bottom right corner of the screen
- Tap the “+” sign at the top right
- Tap “AI Playlist” in the mini-window that opens
- Choose one of the suggested tips or write your command
- After this step, wait for the tracks to be added by Spotify‘s magic
- Preview and organize parts
- Save your playlist by tapping Create
