Apple announced its new devices at the Wonderlust event and revealed some of its latest technologies. The company announced its new iPhone 15 series, Two new Apple Watches, and a new generation of Apple AirPods Pro. Here is everything you need to know!
Apple recently unveiled what’s new in the 15th version of the iPhone. There are four models: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. They all have better cameras, and the top-end iPhones have a new “periscope camera” system. The Pro and Pro Max models will also have a physical Action Button on the side instead of a mute switch, which you can customize for quick shortcuts. That is not it, though; let’s take a deeper look together!
iPhone 15, Plus
The iPhone 15 comes in two sizes: 5.7 inches and 6.1 inches for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. They come in 5 different colors, and Apple puts the color directly into the back glass, so your phone will always look the same color. They improved the camera to 48MP for better photos. The phone’s smart brain helps make your photos even better. There’s also a 12MP zoom lens for videos.
The camera knows what you’re shooting and adjusts itself. You don’t need to mess with settings unless you want to. The phone got more powerful with the A16 chip, making everything faster. It also has a longer battery life.
The iPhone 15 has a special chip for tracking and finding friends. There are worries about misuse, so safety measures are important. Apple improved its emergency satellite feature. You can now use it to call AAA if you’re stuck somewhere with no help.
Here are the prices:
- iPhone 15: starting from $799 (same as before)
- iPhone 15 Plus: starting from $899 (same as before)
iPhone 15 Pro, Pro Max
The iPhone 15 Pro has a 6.1-inch Super Retina screen, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a larger 6.7-inch Super Retina screen. They made the borders on the sides thinner by about one-third using a new method for the 15 Pro series.
The camera on the iPhone 15 Pro got a lot of attention at the Apple event. It still has three lenses, including a 48-megapixel main one and better telephoto and wide-angle lenses. They also added a new periscopic camera system, which should make it easier to take steady pictures even if you move. This means less blurriness when you zoom in.
Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra has a similar camera, so we’ll see which one is better for faraway shots. Apple’s Pro models have really good stabilization, with 10,000 adjustments per second, twice as many as the 14 Pro.
A handy feature is that all the new iPhones can now recognize when there are people, dogs, or cats in the shot, so you don’t have to switch to portrait mode. Apple improved Night Mode photos with a new lens coating, and Smart HDR now has a wider range for better-looking photos.
Apple Watch Series 9, Ultra 2
Apple unveiled new gadgets at its Wonderlust event, including the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2. The Series 9 starts at $399, and the Watch Ultra 2 starts at $799. You can get them on September 22nd.
Both watches run on watchOS 10 and have Apple’s S9 SiP chip, similar to the one in the iPhone 13. This means they’ll work faster, last longer on a charge, and handle Siri on the watch itself. They’ll also get a new “double-tap” feature next month, making it easier to answer calls, stop timers, play music, and more by tapping your fingers together.
The rugged Apple Watch Ultra 2 is more for active people than the Series 9. It shows real-time data, has the brightest display of any Apple Watch, and lasts longer on a single charge compared to the older model.
Apple AirPods Pro 2
Although Apple didn’t make a big announcement during its launch event, it quietly made a change to the Airpods Pro 2. They now come with a USB-C charging case, matching the new USB-C iPhone 15. The Airpods themselves are mostly the same, but they now support lossless audio when used with the upcoming Apple Vision Pro. Also, they have a slightly better IP54 rating, which means they are more resistant to dust, both for the case and the earphones.
