After many years, we finally had a chance to try out Dead Island 2, and many people were satisfied with the result after all those years. Today, we will talk about Dead Island 2 weapon rarity, which is one of the most important things that you should know if you are playing the game right now.
In Dead Island 2, a weapon’s effectiveness is significantly influenced by its rarity. The more mod and perk slots a weapon has, the more lethal and powerful it will be. This means that obtaining a rare weapon can significantly improve your fighting chances.
You can use various unique weapons in Dead Island 2 that vary from melee to ranged. Each weapon has a certain rarity that sets it apart from other weapons. The better a weapon is, the rarer it is. Knowing the rarity of your weapons should therefore be your primary concern because it will increase your effectiveness and enable you to decimate hordes of undead.
Dead Island 2 weapon rarity: Which one is the best?
The rarity of your weapons greatly influences your survival strategy in the world of Dead Island 2. The post-apocalyptic environment needs rapid reflexes and intelligent thinking as each second passes. The strength, durability, and overall lethality of a weapon are directly influenced by its rarity.
This means that if you have a rarer weapon, you will have more damage on zombies, and probably all of the other stats will be higher than a common or regular weapon. This way, it will be easier for you to get rid of all of the zombies coming on your way. Here is a list of Dead Island 2 weapon rarity classes:
- Improvised – White
- Common – Green
- Rare – Blue
- Superior – Purple
- Legendary – Orange
Each weapon you carry will perform differently depending on how rare it is. Due to being the weakest weapon type on the list, your weapon will deal the least amount of damage if it falls into the Dead Island 2 Improvised category of the rarity chart. Your weapon will have more perk slots, the rarer it is.
Rare weapons have a total of 3 perk slots, compared to 2 for uncommon weapons. There are four perk slots for each of the superior and legendary weapons.
White weapons are the most basic and do not have any upgrade slots. Green weapons, which are more potent than makeshift weapons, will be encountered as players go through the game. Players will eventually come upon blue weapons, which are more uncommon and potent than green ones.

Next are purple weapons, which are extremely powerful and craftable. The famous orange weapons, which are the best of the best, are the rarest of all weaponry.
More power and unusual mods are packed into the special builds of legendary weapons than any other kind of weapon. Although they are extremely uncommon, players can also acquire these weapons by beating foes. In general, more mod and perk slots will be available for a weapon the rarer it is.
However, depending on whether it is a mallet, rifle, or sword, each weapon type has a varied number of slots.
Dead Island 2 experienced a difficult development process despite being announced in 2014. Changes in the development teams caused this. The project was initially given to Yager Development, but in 2016 it was transferred to Sumo Digital.
However, in 2019, Dambuster, a Deep Silver internal studio, received the development baton. On April 21, 2023, the game was ultimately made available on a variety of platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
