HP Dragonfly Pro Chromebook price and specs
HP Dragonfly Pro Chromebook will be sold for $999 with i5, 16GB RAM, and 256GB SSD.
The first Google Chromebook Pixel introduced the idea of luxury Chromebooks with always-on connectivity and a distinctive screen a decade ago. The HP Dragonfly Pro Chromebook ($999), which boasts a dazzling 1,200-nit display, an 8-megapixel webcam, and an RGB backlit keyboard akin to gaming laptops, is today’s contender for the title of finest ChromeOS laptop you can buy.
But, the Dragonfly Pro targets productivity users—specifically freelancers and other small-business owners. The Dragonfly Pro Chromebook is a fantastic device that is quick, stylish, and supported by dedicated 24/7 service, but its restricted hardwired connectivity prevents it from winning our hearts entirely.
This high-end laptop boasts a metal body, a 14-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600, 1,200 nits of brightness, a fingerprint sensor, and other features. This device includes the same haptic trackpad as the HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook from last year, as well as a backlit keyboard with an RGB mode that was first spotted at CES.
The HP Dragonfly Pro Chromebook only comes in one configuration internally. a 256GB NVMe SSD, 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and an Intel i5 processor (i5-1235U) with Iris Xe graphics. Wi-Fi 6E support, four USB-C connectors for charging, and Thunderbolt 4 support are also included. HP claims that the 51.3Wh battery, which charges 50% in 30 minutes, has a battery life of 11 hours and 30 minutes (up to 96W charging).
The gadget weighs 3.33 lbs and comes with an 8MP camera, four Bang & Olufsen-tuned speakers, and other accessories.
Although $999 is not a cheap price for the HP Dragonfly Pro Chromebook price, it is significantly less expensive than the Elite Dragonfly and not too dissimilar from Chromebooks from rival manufacturers. Prices range from $599 for the Acer Vero 514 to roughly $700 for the Asus CX5500 and Acer Chromebook Spin 514 when comparing devices with the same Intel i5 processor. Nevertheless, all three of those computers only have half as much RAM and, in our opinion, lower-quality hardware.
The HP Dragonfly has been in use for the past week or so, and so far many are very happy with it. The keyboard is amazing, the battery life is good, and the hardware is top-notch. Therefore many users are happy with the HP Dragonfly Pro Chromebook price.
The HP Dragonfly Pro Chromebook is already on sale at HP.com and will begin arriving on March 24.
