vx-underground has shared they found that CoD 2023 leaks are out because of a recent hack that happened in the Activision company.
A significant section of the 2023 plan for both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 may have been exposed in internal Activision documents stolen by hackers at the end of last year.
The second season of Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 has already begun, bringing the biggest content update for both games to date. The new Ashika Island Resurgence map and several gameplay tweaks were added to the battle royale, while Ranked Play and many other updates were added to Modern Warfare 2.
However, there is still much more to come since Season 2 Reloaded and Season 3 are both in the works. Players are always curious to hear what the developers have in store. Now that CoD 2023 leaks have been discovered, it may be possible to predict what will happen in 2023.

CoD 2023 leaks are out after an Activision staff member’s Slack account was hacked
Activision, the publisher of Call of Duty, was allegedly breached in December 2022, according to Vx-underground, a website notorious for publishing confidential documents. In the CoD 2023 leaks thread on Twitter, we can see a conversation between two staff members from Activision suggesting that one of their co-worker’s Slack account has been hacked.
One of these was a spreadsheet with potential release dates and features for Season 3 and beyond of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. The paper claims that Season 3 will include two new Operators, one of whom will be “licensed,” three new weapons, three multiplayer maps, a larger battle map, and three new Operators.
However, it’s possible that this knowledge has since become outdated. Despite the Battle Pass timer in-game now indicating April 12, it was stated that the Season 3 update would arrive on March 15 and not until then. The leaked information also claimed that Season 4 would feature content identical to Season 3 but with the addition of a new “little map” for Warzone 2.

The paper also made mention of Season 6, which was scheduled to run from September 15 through November 8. Plans included additional Operators, weapons, and maps in addition to what looks to be a Halloween event named “Haunting of Saba”.
We can also find mentions of something named “Jupiter” throughout the leaked roadmap, with an alpha set for May 2023. Although it isn’t explicitly stated, it has been theorized that Jupiter may be the codename for CoD 2023.
Multiple resources claimed to have seen all of the data discovered in the breach and to have been able to confirm its veracity shortly after these papers went public.
Until the developers themselves reveal what is coming, we won’t be able to say for sure whether or not this 2023 roadmap for Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 is correct.
The timetable for each update suggests that plans have altered internally since the hack in December of last year, even if it does turn out to be true. The material given also appears to be out of date.
Everything we know about CoD 2023
Like previous installments, COD 2023 will debut in the fall, and according to multiple resources, the release date has already been announced. Keep in mind, though, that Activision has not formally endorsed this.
According to reports, Call of Duty 2023’s campaign mode will debut on November 2, 2023, and the full release will follow on November 10, 2023.
The following are the alleged beta times for Call of Duty 2023:
- PlayStation: October 6, 2023, through October 10, 2023
- All platforms: October 12, 2023, through October 16, 2023
These timings correspond to the beta periods for earlier Call of Duty games. It’s crucial to emphasize once more that Activision has not officially confirmed anything even tough we got some CoD 2023 leaks.
Is CoD 2023 a prequel to MW2?
The sources stated earlier claim that CoD 2023 will be a follow-up to Modern Warfare 2, which debuted in 2022. It makes it fitting that the story of CoD 2023 would occur soon after MW2, given the game was originally intended to be an expansion for that title.
Uncertainty exists around whether this will be a complete sequel in the style of Modern Warfare 3 or a more constrained follow-up. Our best bet is that it’s a smaller-scale sequel because it was initially only intended to be an expansion, but it’s best to wait for official Activision confirmation.
