We’ve never been to a Gotham without Batman before thanks to Gotham Knights. Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood have stepped up to be the thin caped line that prevents the city from degenerating into chaos as a result of the death of the dark knight. For the entirety of the game, you can essentially take on the role of any one of the four Gotham Knights characters. The four playable heroes in the game, however, are not all the same.

Gotham Knights playable characters explained

Because each knight provides players with a unique gaming experience, fans will need to carefully select their knight based on how they want to play the game. With four different ways to engage in combat in Gotham Knights, from heavy-handed tanks to stealth attackers, the gameplay is more varied and encourages players to work together to watch different knights engage in combat. To help you choose which character best fits your playstyle, let’s delve deeper into each one and explain what it means.

Each member of the Bat-family is unique and has unique abilities, advantages in combat, and more. Combos are executed differently by each character; for instance, Red Hood uses his firearms more effectively in his timed attacks than other characters do in their ranged attacks. Additionally, even though it’s not required, it’s a good idea to switch up your cast of characters frequently because each one will be involved in a different plot moment. The degree to which the game environment changes depending on who you’re playing as is one of the game’s greatest hat tricks.

The game is available on Steam, by the way.

Nightwing (Dick Grayson)

Let’s begin with Nightwing, also known as Dick Grayson, who is our first Gotham Knight character. Richard “Dick” Grayson, better known as “Nightwing,” holds the distinction of being the first-ever “Robin.” He fought alongside Batman from his early childhood through his teenage years, before leaving Wayne Manor to forge his own path and adopt the superhero alias “Nightwing.” The majority of the time due to Bruce’s apparent demise, Grayson has repeatedly taken on the role of Batman whenever Bruce was unable to do so. Strangely, he doesn’t in this situation.

Due to his background as a circus performer, Dick’s combat style is primarily focused on acrobatics, which allows him to move around the battlefield with ease. The skills on his skill trees allow him to use enemies as springboards to leap into the air and dodge attacks with incredible back handsprings. He may use special strikes more frequently due to the addition of the ability to knock down opponents and gather momentum energy more quickly.

Grayson is an expert in collaboration as well. He can acquire area-of-effect abilities that buff and heal teammates as well as darts that heal or even revive allies from a distance.

You can unlock the special traversal skills of each of the four heroes by successfully completing their “knighthood” challenges. Nightwing can move around by gliding thanks to his miniature drone.

Batgirl (Barbara Gordon)

If there is anyone who, in terms of skills, would be a good replacement for Batman, it would be Batgirl. She is an expert investigator as well as a tech genius. She’s aided the cape-wearer on several occasions, first as Batgirl, then as Oracle, and finally as Batgirl again. She is the daughter of James Gordon.

With her knowledge of technology, Barbara can amusingly hack the battlefield. She could, for instance, use a few of her skills to deal tank damage without having her attacks interrupted or to block powerful opponent attacks with her standard combos. She can also revive herself after being knocked out and heal herself by killing enemies.

Batgirl is a wise choice because she can hack the environment while attempting to be undetectable when you want to eliminate enemies quickly rather than put up with drawn-out battles. She possesses the ability to make herself invisible to electronic security equipment like sensors and cameras and the ability to cause distant environmental objects like electrical panels to explode.

Barbara gains access to the ability to fly around the city on her batwings through her knighthood challenges. The traversal abilities found in the Arkham games are most comparable to this one.

Robin (Tim Drake)

Robin is the next character in this Gotham Knights Characters guide. Tim Drake, the youngest of the four Gotham Knights characters, is the most recent incarnation of Robin. Tim Drake, in contrast to other Robins, learned Batman’s identity on his own and wasn’t an orphan at the beginning of his story.

The gameplay of Robin has shown that his character will rely more on stealth and diversions than the others because the majority of his gadgets allow him to stun or confuse his enemies long enough for the player to switch into stealth mode. Thanks to his invisibility suit, which allows him to sneak past opponents, and the stun blast from his slingshot, which temporarily blinds foes, Robin is the perfect character for any player who wants to experience a stealth playthrough in Gotham Knights. However, Robin has his trusty staff at his disposal to quickly eliminate enemies if he is discovered.

Since Robin is a genius hacker, his arsenal of gadgets, which make up the core of his combat, will likely be the most in the game. In order to close the distance to the biggest threats first, Robin can use his staff to block incoming bullets while charging the foe. This may cause players of Robin to concentrate on a single foe rather than circling around a group of foes. Robin is considered to be the stealthiest character in the Gotham Knights because of his vulnerability to being overpowered by larger groups or teams of enemies.

Among the group, Robin’s ability to traverse might be the strangest. He can travel great distances using mystical satellite technology, which is equivalent to holding down the right trigger while slowly moving the cursor to the location where you want him to reappear.

Red Hood (Jason Todd)

Today, a man by the name of Jason Todd dons the red mask, and Todd’s Red Hood will make an appearance in Gotham Knights. Red Hood was one of The Joker’s earliest personas. Todd, who was thought to have been killed by The Joker, makes a comeback as Red Hood, an antihero who has been brought back to life by Ra’s al Ghul. Red Hood is more willing than the other characters to use lethal force and weapons to achieve objectives.

Of all the characters, Red Hood is the one that is easiest to play. He makes up for his lack of skill in stealth and sophisticated hacking with sheer force. He has effective grab techniques, as well as devastating close-range and melee attacks. One of his specialties is attaching explosive mines to captured enemies, throwing them back at their allies, and detonating them with precise gunfire. What a braggadocio!

Jason’s weapons are more effective than the long-range weapons of his opponents. Keeping your distance from enemies will allow you to maximize your damage multipliers by using the manual aiming mechanics of the game. He can fire clips at a high rate of speed and quickly reload for more thanks to his momentum abilities.

Red Hood can teleport around by using magical floating platforms thanks to his special traversal ability.

All of the playable Gotham Knights characters are listed above. Let me give you a brief introduction to some other famous people you might meet while playing the game.

The non-playable characters in Gotham Knights

Alfred Pennyworth

He frequently acted as a father figure, mentor, and doctor, often bandaging him up. He was the world’s top detective’s butler. He is defined by his relationship with the Waynes, so it is unknown how he will react in a world without Batman.

Mr. Frost (Victor Fries)

Mr. Freeze, who was once used as a punchline, evolved into something more as a result of his tragic backstory in which he looked for a cure for his wife. While Mr. Freeze plays an antagonist in Gotham Knights, there is typically more going on.

Once again posing a threat to society, Mr. Freeze is causing Gotham’s streets to be covered in ice and thunderstorms thanks to some kind of weaponry. As you might expect, there is carnage and mayhem as a result, and the Bat Family must put an end to his out-of-control plotting.

Marilyn Quinn (Harleen Quinzel)

Former jail psychologist Harley Quinn eventually threw it all out after being tricked by the Joker. Gotham Knights makes no mention of The Joker, and based on how independent Harley Quinn has been acting lately, it would seem that she no longer needs the clown prince of crime.

Penguin (Oswald Cobblepot)

Oswald Cobblepot, better known as the Penguin, also makes an appearance as an iconic and infamous villain.

The Penguin doesn’t seem to be posing a threat to our four protagonists as much as he is providing them with useful information. On one hand, we are aware that Penguin is nothing more than a danger to Batman, wreaking havoc and mayhem wherever he goes, but on the other hand, he possesses more knowledge about the Court of Owls than almost anyone in Gotham.

Clayface (Basil Karlo)

Since Clayface has several different alter egos and a variety of different backstories, we are currently unsure which Clayface we will be competing against in Gotham Knights. But one thing never changes: The Gotham Knights will have their hands full dealing with this malleable monster, one of Batman’s deadliest adversaries.

The Court of Owls

The Court of Owls organization is the second significant foe that will repeatedly trouble our Gotham Knights while prowling the streets of Gotham. The Court is always planning and scheming. Given that Penguin tells our heroes that the Court of Owls run everything in Gotham and that Batman never had authority over the city, we might assume that the Court of Owls is responsible for the mystery surrounding Batman’s “death.”

Batman (Bruce Wayne)

Bruce Wayne, better known as Batman’s cape-wearing alter ego, won’t be playing Gotham Knights because he passes away before the game even starts. Batman requests that the members of his Bat Family continue to defend Gotham from those who would do it harm.
