Pantone Color of the Year 2023 has been announced and the Viva Magenta is set to be seen all over fashion and goods as Pantone specializes in these color trends.
If it hasn’t become obvious by this point, life cannot be returned to as it was before the epidemic. The people at Pantone are searching for a color that resonates with this new vision of the future as the globe continues to advance in this new reality. According to the experts, the Pantone Color of the Year 2023 is an unusual hue for an unusual period. For Pantone particularly, it’s a color that they haven’t used in almost ten years.
Pantone Color of the Year 2023 is an “unconventional shade for an unconventional time”
18-1750 Viva Magenta, described by Pantone as a “brave and fearless, animated red that encourages experimentation and self-expression without restraint,” is the color of the year for 2023. The global authority praises the subtle crimson as “assertive but not aggressive” because it strikes a balance between warm and cold tones.
Viva Magenta strikes a balance between the past and the future as well as between warm and cold tones. The color is a recreation of carmine crimson, one of the priciest and most sought-after natural dyes made from cochineal insects. As virtual worlds take over more of our everyday lives, Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, stated, “As virtual worlds become a more prominent part of our daily lives, we look to draw inspiration from nature and what is real.”
“Rooted in the primordial, PANTONE 18-1750 Viva Magenta reconnects us to original matter. Invoking the forces of nature, it galvanizes our spirit, helping us to build our inner strength.”
Although the color also has a place in the future. According to Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute, “The last few years were transformative in many ways in terms of people’s sense of self, and the way well being, priorities and identity are being thought about. As a result, space has been created where we are free to explore and be accepted for exactly who we feel we are, whether it be in a cybernetic universe, a conventional space, or a magical blend of both. We are creating a dynamic world that encourages experimentation, one that leverages the virtual within the physical realm and emboldens our strength and spirit to explore groundbreaking possibilities.”
The Magentaverse, an immersive color experience that makes its debut during Art Basel in Miami, was created by ARTECHOUSE in partnership with Pantone and creative partner Huge. The rooms’ textures and interactions immerse visitors in a variety of Viva Magenta-related visual, aural, and tactile sensations.
Red has not been included in Pantone’s color choices for the past ten years or more; you must go back to 2007 for Chili Pepper and to 2002 for True Red. The hue, however, is a natural selection for the home environment; red is commonly chosen as an accent color and accessory in any area and is frequently thought of as a color for kitchens owing to its energizing mood. Whether you favor neutrals, jewel tones, or brights, Viva Magenta’s distinctive combination of warm and cool tones makes it an easy addition.
