Hive got over 144,000 new installs over the last few days, according to Sensor Tower data (Friday, Nov. 18 through Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022). It claims that 22,000 installations came from the US alone. The app also improved during this time, increasing from 338 to 17 in the current list of iPhone apps in the U.S. App Store. It ranks No. 17 in the UK and No. 24 in Canada.
Posts on Hive’s TikTok claim that the program collapsed over the weekend as an additional 80,000 users registered to try it out. As of this morning, 1.000.000 people have downloaded the app overall, according to Hive’s Twitter account.

Hive’s attraction may go beyond the way it combines several social networking ideas or how much simpler it is to use than Mastodon registration, which has baffled some potential users who don’t know how to choose a server or what the term “fediverse” means. Similar to BeReal, Gen Z is more inclined to recent social networks started by independent creators as opposed to well-known software companies.
Although the app has not made any official announcements about fundraising, it has previously been seen soliciting donations on WeFunder.
