Today, we are going to be covering Pokemon Scarlet and Violet differences and will try to answer the question “Which is better Scarlet or Violet?”
These two games mark the beginning of Generation 9, which we are eagerly anticipating because it will undoubtedly introduce its own unique competitive scene, anime, and even Pokémon card series to the brand. Since we won’t be able to play these games for a while, we’ll be watching every second of the reveal video and any future ones for brand-new locations, features, and, of course, Pokémon.
Every Pokémon player is aware that there are two games available for each generation. It’s Scarlet and Violet this time (could this be a throwback to Red and Blue?). There are usually certain distinctions between the games and Pokémon that are unique to each of the two versions when there are two. Larvitar, for instance, is virtually always restricted to just one game when two are produced. We wouldn’t be shocked if Larvitar became exclusive once more given that it appears in the Scarlet and Violet unveiling trailer.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet differences
It might be difficult to keep up with all of these exclusives, but thankfully we have you covered. Here is a list of all the changes and exclusives Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet.
Legendaries
On June 1, a fresh trailer debuted our first glimpse at the two Pokémon Scarlet and Violet box art legendaries, Koraidon and Miraidon, respectively. There is no information on typing, however, our best assumption at this time is that Koraidon will type fire and dragon, while Miraidon will type electric and dragon. They appear as follows:
It’s significant to note that it appears gamers will have access to each legendary character from close to the game’s beginning. As they can climb up cliffs, swim overseas and other bodies of water, glide through the air, and function as motorcycle-like vehicles on land, these legendary beings are excellent for traversal. Whereas Miraidon’s many forms are known as “modes,” they more strongly allude to Violet’s future themes while Koraidon’s various forms are referred to as “builds.”
Professors
For the first time ever in a Pokémon game, there will be two professors: Professor Sada if you’re playing Scarlet and Professor Turo if you’re playing Violet, according to the huge June 1 video (right). Below is a list for you to review:
Starting outfits
The beginning clothes are the only distinction we’ve seen between the two versions so far, with only the unveiling video and a Nintendo official Pokémon Scarlet and Violet website to rely on. It comes as no surprise that the Scarlet starting clothing is composed of, well, scarlet, and the Violet starting outfit is composed of violet. Here are some game images showing the two various costumes.
Towers and insignia
We got a brief glimpse of two towers in the June 1 video, and they are obviously different depending on whatever game you’re playing. It is still unknown what these towers are or what they stand for. Although it appears that the Scarlet tower has an orange fruit insignia and the Violet tower has grapes, perhaps the local fruit will have an interesting role to play in this area:
Your trainer attends school in Mesagoza, the capital of Paldea, which is home to their respective institutions and their crests. While Violet players will attend the Uva Academy, Scarlet players will attend the Naranja Academy.

Which is better Scarlet or Violet?
Which of the two versions is superior has no clear, objective winner. Since it comes down to individual taste, your best chance is to review the facts provided above and decide which game appeals to you more. The Pokemon that are unique to each edition of the games make up the majority of the differences between them, so pick the title that appeals to you the most. Beyond that, your greatest yardstick is whether you favor the hues of orange or purple.
