Town slimes are new types of NPCs that can be added to your villages with the new update. Town slimes function similarly to existing town pets, but they cannot be purchased from the Zookeeper. Clumsy Slime
The Clumsy Slime can be obtained by hitting the balloon part of a slime that is flying using a balloon in the space layer of the world. Currently, I’m not sure if it is available pre-hardmode or not.“This slime was a little confused when the other slimes started putting on hats and accessories. But it did its best.”
Elder Slime
The Elder Slime is found at random in the caverns layer in a bouncing underground chest. I’m not sure if a golden key is required to open the chest before hardmode. Keep a gold key on you at all times when hunting for this slime. “Older, though not necessarily wiser, the other slimes look up to the Elder Slime. If it survived this long, it must know something!”
Cool Slime
The Cool Slime can appear at any time there is a party in town. I’m not sure if this has to be a natural or a manually triggered party, but I got him on a natural one. “Without a doubt, the coolest slime around.” You can tell by the backwards hat and incomprehensible slang.”
Surly Slime
On a blood moon, the Surly Slime can be found while fishing. I’m not sure what stats are needed to catch it or if it can be caught before hardmode, but I recommend using a sonar potion and a fishing potion when pursuing this slime. “Irascible and insufferable, this grumpy slime is probably up to no good. Probably. It’s the thought that counts, really.”
Diva Slime
The Diva Slime can be obtained by dropping a Sparkling Water Balloon into a pool of Shimmer, a new liquid added in 1.4.4 that can be obtained as an endgame item by combining an Endless Water Bucket with 10 Luminite Bars, or found randomly underground in an Aether Cave. “This slime, created by the combined energies of Shimmer and the Queen Slime, is bursting with boundless energy and enthusiasm!”

Mystic Slime
The Mystic Slime can be found by sprinkling purification powder on the Mystic Frog critter, which spawns infrequently in the Jungle. I’m not sure if it can spawn in pre-hardmode yet. If you have the Lifeform Analyzer, the Mystic Frog will appear as a rare enemy and will be immune to damage if you have the Guide to Critter Companionship equipped. “This slime knows that great witches wear impressive hats, but it only found a droopy one.
