Today we are here to explain what Charged with Light is in Destiny 2. It is one of the most interesting mechanics in the game but still for some people the details regarding the stacks and buffs are unclear. Some of the strongest and most adaptable builds in the game can be made by those who can understand this unusual mechanic.

It can provide you things like continual damage resistance, life when you kill grenades, super energy, and damage bonuses, to name just a few. We’ll provide a thorough explanation of what Charged with Light is and how to use it for those who are eager to learn.

By the way, we’ve recently covered how to generate Orbs of Power in Destiny 2, don’t forget to check it out!

What is Charged with Light in Destiny 2?

Through Combat Style armor mods, one can acquire and control Charged with Light, a special boost. Charged with Light doesn’t function on its own, unlike other Combat Style features. The bonuses are entirely dependant on the armor modifications you have.

What is Charged with Light in Destiny 2: Buffs, stacks and moreThe mods come in three different categories:

  • Charge Generators (Green): You receive stacks from these mods.
  • Charge Consumers (Yellow): Your stacks become potent boons thanks to these mods.
  • Modifiers (White): The way you acquire and use stacks is modified by these mods.

You’ll need mods that supply and consume stacks if you want to use Charged with Light at all. These modifications, despite their apparent complexity, are actually quite easy to utilize and greatly increase the power of your Guardian. These mods function in PvP in contrast to the other two Combat Style mechanisms, Warmind Cells and Elemental Wells.

How does Charged with Light work in Destiny 2?

Here is a quick explanation of Charged with Light’s operation:

EffectEffects of buffs are totally reliant on your armor modifications.

Stacks

You need stacks of Charged with Light in order for your buff mods to function. Upon performing an action, several Combat Style mods will award Charged with Light stacks. Although there are a few exceptions, the majority of these upgrades demand several kills with a certain weapon family.

Buffs

The benefits of the malleable buff Charged with Light depend on the types of armor modifications you are wearing. Potential buff effects can range from 20% more weapon damage to 50% more damage resistance once your shields are breached, the ability to produce Special ammunition from Void damage, and many other things.

Every mod that adds Charged with Light stacks will only add one stack, unless stated otherwise. These mods can be equipped in as many slots for Combat Style mods as you like, but in order for them to function, your armor must contain a mod that consumes buffs.

What is Charged with Light in Destiny 2: Buffs, stacks and moreHow to consume Charged with Light stacks?

What use is a boost if it has no effect? You’ll need mods that deplete Charged with Light stacks if you want your Charged with Light stacks to have any kind of benefit. These mods’ descriptions will make that clear. A few frequent modifications in this category are:

  • High-Energy Fire: Provides a 20% increase in weapon damage. Spends a stack on each successful kill.
  • Firepower: Your grenade’s throw costs one stack and returns 15% energy.
  • Heavy Handed: One stack will be consumed when you use your melee ability, which returns 50% energy. In its secondary bonus, when you defeat PvE foes when they are surrounded, Fusion Rifles and Shotguns are given ammunition.

Elemental affinities

The majority of these mods have an affinity for a specific element. What armor types can accommodate a mod depends on that mod’s affinity. Arc armor, Solar armor, and Void armor all permit the use of void, arc, and solar mods. Any piece of armor can be modified with universal modifications, or those without an elemental affinity.

The mod’s elemental affinity also determines some of its characteristics:

SolarMany instances of the same stack of Solar mods.
ArcPossesses a secondary effect that needs to be engaged. Requires either a second Arc CwL mod on the same piece of armor or an Arc mod on any piece of armor.
VoidThese modifications cost little but take ten points off of one stat.

These mods may only be purchased from Ada-1 in the Tower. Every day, she can dispense up to two arbitrary Combat Style mods for 10,000 Glimmer. To make sure you’re growing your collection of Combat Style mods, check her stock every day. Play Destiny 2 from Steam.
