We explained diff meaning in Overwatch. A multiplayer game like Overwatch has always placed a strong emphasis on teamwork in order to succeed. Imagine that only one player is effective in their pushes or that the opposing team’s Widowmaker is heavily influencing the game. You could find it difficult to engage in a competitive match in that situation. Recently, the word “diff” has become popular in the Overwatch community. The meaning is as follows.

What is diff meaning in Overwatch?

Given that we are discussing online culture, it should be very clear that diff is typically used to disparage a player, whether they are on your team or the enemy, in a game. Difference is abbreviated as diff. Someone may claim that a player on either team who is underperforming is the difference in the game. On the other hand, you may occasionally hear someone refer to a superior player as the diff in a flattering way.

The lesser Doomfist, for instance, might be known as the “Doomfist diff,” or more simply, “That Doomfist is the difference in why we lost,” if one team was consistently winning while the other was getting into fights and losing.

Although it’s frequently used to describe two sides playing the same character and one dominating, the word “diff” can also be used to describe roles. A healer is said to have the “healer diff” if they consistently choose the best moment to use their ultimate while still preserving the lives of their allies.

It is not unusual to hear Overwatch players use the phrase diff when discussing where their team went wrong in a lost match. Since some people are not particularly consistent in their usage of diff, dismiss them if they are merely trolling or attempting to undermine others.
